OK, now, it is still three weeks till Pesach and there is still a lot of chametz cooking to be done between now and then, so cleaning your kitchen NOW for Pesach is not going to happen. However, if you give it a good going over now - in a methodical manner - then when you are doing your final pre-Passover-Get-Rid-Of-Chametz-Scrub, it will go faster and easier.
Instead of waiting till the day before to self-clean the oven of a year's worth of grime, set the self timer to go tonight, or while you are at work tomorrow. By the time you wake up / come home from work, the oven will have cooled down and you can get to work wiping it down. Don't have a self cleaning oven? Easy Off is your friend. Do the same with the stovetop - clean it well now. Submerge the grates or the drip pans in hot soapy water and use the cleaning products that are right for your stove. If you get off the majority of the yucky stuff now, cleaning* and changing over the kitchen will be a breeze.
Take everything out of the fridge and freezer. Wipe down all the shelving, line the refrigerator bins - we use paper towels. Throw away all the gucky moldy stuff that is hiding on the top shelf at the back. Organize your freezer, so that you know what you have to use up before Passover, and what you can sell with the rest of your chametz.
Wipe down the counters and the back splashes, remove everything from the cabinets - do one cabinet at a time, wipe off shelves and replace. Take this opportunity to organize those pot lids, the tupperware or the cutlery drawer. It is so much easier to do it if you are not pushed for time.
Boil a cup of water in the microwave for a couple of minutes - the steam will help loosen any stuck on dirt. Use a soft cloth to wipe down the interior and give the mircowave plate a good wash in hot soapy water.
ACTION: Once you have cleaned your oven and stove top, line them with foil. It will be even easier to clean up erev Pesach.
DINNER TONIGHT: After all that cleaning, you are not going to want to mess up your pristine kitchen. Time for another slow cooker dinner - we'll do dairy tonight. Slow Cooker Fresh Veggie Lasagna - Sounds yum. Put it up at the beginning of the day and just forget about it until it's time to eat.
