HOW IS THIS SIMILAR/DIFFERENT FROM A COOKBOOK?
Our 28 Day Challenge is a more than a cookbook. It was prepared as a 28 day meal plan with shopping lists and full nutritional information for you to follow over 28 days, along with a community of professionals and participants for support.
The 28 Day Challenge is designed to help you get a healthy dinner on the table every night that the whole family will love. Just like the recipes in your favorite cookbooks, you can come back to these recipes again and again.
IS THE PLAN SUITABLE FOR VEGETARIANS? IF NOT, CAN IT BE EASILY MODIFIED?
The 28 Day Challenge is approximately 50% vegetarian, with vegetarian options for the remainder of the recipes. There is very little red meat included in the plan, but there is a fair amount of chicken.
CAN THE PLAN BE EASILY MODIFIED FOR GLUTEN, NUT, DAIRY, AND EGG ALLERGIES?
We want the recipes to be enjoyed by as many people as possible. We’ve included notes on how to make every recipe gluten-free. We are happy to share personalized tips via email on how to modify for nut, dairy and egg allergies when relevant, but it will take some extra work on your part to tweak the recipes to meet your specific needs. Our team is also available to answer your questions on the topic, so please send us an email.
IS THIS MEAL PLAN FAMILY-FRIENDLY?
The 28 Day Challenge meal plan was designed with families in mind, and is meant to act as a helping hand to get families cooking + eating more nutrient-rich, unprocessed foods. Every recipe has been both adult and kid-tested, and has been given a thumbs up by tasters of all ages! Of course, we know each recipe won’t please everyone, so never hesitate to modify a recipe in order to meet your own family’s needs :).
DOES THE PLAN REFLECT ANY SPECIFIC DIET, SUCH AS PALEO, LOW CARB, LOW FAT, ETC.?
No, we don't subscribe to any specific diet, we believe everything can be enJOYed in moderation as part of an overall healthy eating plan.
WILL I LOSE WEIGHT ON THE MEAL PLAN?
We believe you can if you want to. We give you the tools to lose weight, including full delicious recipes for all your meals and calorie information for our suggested portions, but the actual portions and additional snacks that you choose to eat are up to you.

DO I HAVE TO FOLLOW THE RECIPE EXACTLY, OR CAN I SWITCH OUT AN INGREDIENT OR TWO?
You can always feel free to make the recipe your own, especially when it comes to spices. However, in order to stick to the provided nutritional information, you will want to avoid any major changes. If the dish is not in your taste at all, you may also swap a recipe for another recipe entirely, which you have tried previously and want to make again.
WHAT IF I DON’T WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT?
You can enJOY the recipes and the planned menus featuring good healthy foods without worrying about portion sizes and extra snacks.

IS THE MEAL PLAN DESIGNED FOR MEN AND WOMEN?
It is really geared more towards the average woman in terms of calories, but men can certainly cook and enJOY the recipes too. Each person will have to determine their specific calorie needs and adjust portion sizes and/or snacks accordingly. We can also help with this, please send us an email.
IS THE BOOK ONLY AVAILABLE DIGITALLY?
No, it can also be ordered as a very basic printed version from Amazon here.
WHAT IS BAHARAT AND WHERE CAN I GET IT?
Baharat is a Middle Eastern spice blend that can be made in many different ways and found in many grocery stores. You can easily substitute Ras el Hanout if that is easier to find, or make your own.
Here is a recipe to make your own Baharat, but feel free to adjust it to your liking.
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons ground paprika
- 2 tablespoons ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons ground coriander
- 2 tablespoons ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon ground allspice
- 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
Combine all ingredients and store in an airtight container. Makes 3/4 cup.

I'm personalizing some of the menus to adhere to my post bariatric surgery nutritional needs (much of it is already bariatric-friendly), so I couldn't have this morning's smoothie - but my husband LOVED it. Thanks again for a wonderful program! I like to eat well and follow a healthy lifestyle, however, with kids and a busy life, I find myself more often just grabbing stuff on the go. I'm also not fond of the kitchen and usually eating right means a lot of kitchen time! However, with the plan you formulated with Jamie, everything is so well-written out!!!!
