Apple Crisp

mix of Granny Smith and Cortland apples works best

pure vanilla extract

Instructions
Filling:
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Peel apples and chop.
Mix lemon zest, lemon juice, brown sugar, flour, nutmeg, cinnamon, and vanilla with apples.
Place in oven-to-table baking dish or a 9- x 13-inch baking pan or individual ramekins.
Crisp:
Mix margarine, brown sugar, white sugar, flour, and cinnamon for the crisp.
Top apples with the crisp and bake at 350°F for 25 minutes for individual ramekins or 40 to 45 minutes for a 9- x 13-inch baking dish.
