We all have that one friend who knows EVERYTHING about health. She’s got a supplement for every symptom, a remedy for every problem and a WhatsApp group full of advice.
But when health advice gets passed around enough, it’s easy to forget to ask: Is any of it actually true?
This week on The Jamie Geller Show, I invited Dr. Elissa Hellman, a board-certified OB-GYN with 20 years of experience, to help me separate fact from fiction and bust 10 common women’s health myths.
And we had some VERY interesting conversations.
Can years on birth control affect your fertility? Is freezing your eggs really a guaranteed backup plan? Does your doctor always know best, or should you be asking more questions?
And what about perimenopause? Is it really something you don’t need to think about until your 50s?
We even explored how Jewish law approaches women’s health, and why the right medical and rabbinic guidance can make all the difference when navigating personal decisions.
What I LOVE about Dr. Hellman is that she’s not just interested in giving women answers. She wants us to understand our options, ask better questions and feel confident making decisions about our own health.
Because when it comes to our bodies, there’s a big difference between what we’ve always heard and what we actually need to know.
Now I’m curious: What’s one piece of health advice you’ve heard a million times but never actually questioned?
