Chocolate Chip Blondies
Servings
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 1 pound 1 box light brown sugar
- 1 1/2 Tbs. light corn syrup
- 3 Tbs. hot water
- 3 eggs
- 3 cups flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 tsp. butter flavor
- 12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Line a half sheet pan or jelly roll pan with parchment paper.
- In a small saucepan melt the shortening, margarine, and sugar. Add in the corn syrup and water and stir to combine. Allow to cool.
- Pour the cooled mixture into the bowl of an electric stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Add in the eggs and mix to combine. Then add in the dry ingredients and flavorings. Spread the batter evenly in the parchment lined pan. Sprinkle the chips on top and gently press them into the batter. Bake for 15-20 minutes until light brown. Do not bake too long or the blondies will be dry. Cool and cut into squares.

I think they turned out a little too cakey than what I was expecting, but still fantastic.
