Easy Marinara Sauce
In my many years spent in the kitchen I have found that tomato paste is something we always leftover in the fridge. Here's a quick marinara recipe to make from tomato paste that will store up to 6 weeks in a jar in the fridge.

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- ½ cup tomato paste
- ¾ cup water
- ½ teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon dry oregano
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt to taste
Preparation
1. Heat olive oil in a sauce pan on medium heat. Sauté the tomato paste until the oil turns into a bright orange color. Add the spices and stir for 1 minute until the flavors bloom, then add the water and whisk to remove lumps until completely smooth. Add more water for a thinner sauce.
2. Bring to a simmer and remove from the heat, allow to cool slightly before jarring. Refrigerate up to 6 weeks.
