Edible Flowerpot Salad

These flowerpot stunners filled with fresh tomatoes, lettuce and mozzarella are deceptively simple to put together. The crucial element here is Boston or Bib lettuce which creates a flowering effect. You can also use kale leaves. To dress the salad use your favorite balsamic dressing or pesto

  • 1 head Boston lettuce   
  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes
  • Edible flowers
  • 8-ounces fresh mozzarella (mini balls or large ball, shredded)
  • 1/2 cup basil leaves
  • Balsamic Dressing
  • Pesto, optional


1. Fill 6 small salad bowls (preferable wood bowls) or mini flower pots with Boston lettuce so you don’t see edges of bowls any longer.

2. Fill bowls with tomatoes, mozzarella, edible flowers and basil leaves.

3. Serve with balsamic dressing drizzled over the salad.
