Classic brownies that can never go wrong. Can be made with dairy or pareve chocolate, butter or pareve butter substitute.

Fudgy Brownies

Ingredients
- 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate
- 1/3 cup butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts optional
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease an 8″ square baking pan.
- Melt the chocolate and butter together in the top part of a double boiler set over barely simmering water.
- When the ingredients have melted, blend them thoroughly and remove the pan from the heat.
- Combine the eggs and sugar in a large bowl and beat them for 2-3 minutes or until the mixture is thick and pale.
- Add the flour, salt and vanilla extract and stir to blend them in.
- Add the chocolate mixture and blend it in thoroughly. Fold in the nuts, if used.
- Spoon the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 30 minutes. Cool the brownies in the pan. Cut them into 16 squares.











How would this recipe work using wholemeal flour instead of all-purpose flour?
A lighter whole grain flour like spelt or white whole wheat would be best but even regular should be okay, just might be a little more dense.
Real easy to make. Now trying not to eat them until shabbos. That’s the hard part.

i also add about 1/4 c chocolate chips either directly into the mixutre or on top.
