Grilled Cheese Bites

pizza cheese bites

All I can say is..yum! These bites were a happy accident. I meant to experiment with cheese and pita bread, but I had given my son the last piece of pita. I DID have one small package of pizza dough, thawing in the oven and decided to have fun with it! These grilled cheese bites were so easy to make, and were gobbled up in under 5 minutes.

  • 1 bag of thawed prepared pizza dough
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Roll out thawed pizza dough to about 1/4 inch thickness. Use a small cylinder ( such as an empty and cleaned baby food jar, and make 24 impressions. Keep kneading and rolling extra dough to get the maximum amount of bites!
Add 1 pinch of shredded cheddar cheese to 12 dough rounds. Sprinkle each round with cheese with a little garlic powder.
Lay clean dough rounds over each round covered with cheese. Gently pinch edges to keep the top round from sliding off. Drizzle a little olive oil, evenly on each dough bite.
Bake at 400 for 9-12 minutes.

Serving with marinara sauce takes this easy and scrumptious dish to the next level. Enjoy!!!
