Mediterreanean Tuna Burger

Top a fresh tuna burger made from a mixture of Ahi tuna and herbs with olive tapenade for a full Mediterranean effect.

These burgers can be prepped ahead and cooked later or even cooked ahead and eaten later. They are a nice heart healthy change from the usual burger night

  • 1 pound ahi tuna steak, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoon chopped chives
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon lemon zest
  • 4 Kaiser rolls, split
  • 4 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 8 tablespoon Black Olive Tapenade

  • ½ cup arugula


1. In a food processor, combine tuna, garlic, chives, salt, thyme, and lemon zest. Pulse to chop and combine until a coarse mixture is formed. Form 4 patties and place on a greased sheet pan. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 1 hour or overnight.

2. Cook burgers on a preheated grill or grill pan for 15 to 18 minutes per side or until cooked through. Remove from grill and let rest for 5 minutes. Place each burger on a kaiser roll with 1 tablespoon mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons Black Olive Tapenade, and a few arugula leaves.
