A fantastic summer treat that’s fun and really, really easy is one of my favorite throwbacks to the good ol' days at Ari's Kosher Deli in the Heights. We had a special called the PLD—or Pregnant Lady's Dream, in which we'd wrap an hotdog in three strips of naval pastrami. The wrapped dog or sausages would then be skewered and deep fried (just as good on the grill), then served on a bun with pickles/relish, red onions, and BBQ sauce.

1. Wrap pastrami around a sausage and secure the pastrami with a toothpick. Grill for two minutes on each side.
Serve in a toasted/grilled hot dog bun along with condiments such as mustard, relish and ketchup.
