Servings

9 Servings

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pound Challah Dough
  • 2 heaping tablespoons smooth peanut butter
  • 2 heaping tablespoons strawberry preserves
  • 1/3 cup confectioners sugar
  • 2 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoon water

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • I use my challah dough recipe to make this yummy dessert / snack. This challah recipe makes a lot of dough, and I use 1/4 of it for the babka buns (about 1 1/2 lbs of dough).
  • Roll out the dough as thin as you can, trying to keep to a rectangular shape.
  • Microwave the peanut butter for 8 seconds on high to soften it so that it will spread, and spread all over the dough, leaving half an inch of bare dough at the corners. Drip the strawberry preserves over the peanut butter and spread it out with the back of a spoon.
  • Roll up the dough tightly – length-wise, so that you will have a long log of dough.
  • Cut with sharp knife into nine equal pieces, and arrange in baking pan.
  • Bake for 40 minutes and remove from oven to cool.
  • When cool ice with regular white icing or chocolate icing (or both). (mix1 1/3 cups confectioners sugar with 2 tbs  water, add 2 tbs cocoa for choc icing)
  • For something different use nutella instead of preserves, or instead of the peanut butter.
