Make your own Peach Jam with Blueberries without any special jars or pectin, store in the freezer for easy use.
- Cook Time
- Prep Time
- 1/4 cup water
- 3/4 cup sugar, or more
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 2 pints blueberries
- 4 nectarines or peaches, pitted, cut into wedges and then diced
- 2 teaspoons corn starch, potato starch, or arrowroot powder, diluted in a little bit of water
Place all the ingredients in a medium-size saucepan and bring to a simmer. Simmer for about 10 minutes or until thickened. Taste for sugar, adding more if necessary.
The jam is ready at this point. If you desire a thicker consistency, or if you are pressed for time and don’t want to wait for the fruit to naturally thicken as it cooks down, once it’s been simmering for a good five minutes, mix in the diluted corn starch, potato starch, or arrowroot powder. The jam will immediately thicken.
Remove from heat and store in small containers in the refrigerator or freezer.
