Sweet Pineapple Applesauce Kugel

This recipe works well with a sugar substitue. The other thing I have done, is increase the amount of noodles and taken some of the mixture out before I have added the sugar, then use a substitue for only that small amount. I also make this for Passover by using the pesadic noodles.

Ingredients

  • 8-10 ounces cooked wide egg noodles
  • 4 eggs
  • 10 ounces crushed pineapple in it’s own juice
  • 16 ounces applesauce
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Spray a 9X13 pan.
  • Combine all the ingredients and pour into the baking dish. Sprinkle additional cinnamon on top and bake uncovered in a 350F oven.
  • Bake for 1 hour or until browned.

      High in sugar because of all the fruit plus white sugar, but low in fat. Pick your poison.
