Spanish Latkes ala Patatas Brava

These spicy potato latkes can be cooled off by a garlic aioli or Romesco dipping sauce.

  • 8 potatoes, peeled and shredded
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 Eggs
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
  • oil


  1. Mix together the potatoes, flour, baking powder, eggs and spices in a large bowl.
  2. Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat. Drop two tablespoons of mixture into hot oil at and cook until browned, then flip and finish cooking. Remove to paper-towels.  Serve with Romesco Sauce or Garlic Aioli.
