Tamar’s RD Tip:
“Eating the rainbow” isn’t just a fun theme—it’s the best way to ensure a complete spectrum of nutrients! Different natural food colors represent distinct phytochemicals and antioxidants: red foods contain lycopene for heart health, orange foods offer beta-carotene for immunity, and purple produce delivers anthocyanins for brain function.

Wow. This totally made my night. Love hearing your modifications too so glad you enjoyed.
I actually did most of this menu for Parshat Noah (2015)! I was going to put the root vegetables in the slow cooker, and forgot. So I very much modified that recipe by putting in ONLY the already-cubed butternut squash, and leaving out the sweet potatoes and carrots. I roasted the squash cubes first, did almost everything else for the menu while they were roasting, then threw together the sauce in a small skillet (not a saucepan) and put the still-firm butternut squash cubes in there to boil and simmer with the sauce… they softened up and were delicious, and the modified meal was on the table in about an hour. (I left out the dessert, too, though it looks like a stunner.) A LOT easier than it looks, super healthy, my husband and I loved it and the kid tried everything, at least. So THANK YOU!
where are the recipes for this wonderful colorful menu?
So glad so many liked the rainbow theme.
what a great thematic menu – that cake is gorgeous
