In this week’s parsha (Eikev), Moses is reflecting on forty years of wandering in the desert, and reminds the Children of Israel how Hashem sustained them with daily manna from heaven. The lesson Moses teaches is “that man does not live on bread alone, but by the utterance of Hashem’s mouth.” We agree, but we still love our bread and our double portion of challah, 1 to start the meal and 1 to end it.
We start this meal with a different version of challah this one is covered in garlic and I can’t get enough.
MARINATED ITALIAN VEGETABLE TOSS

Since our bread is sort of Italian I suggest pairing that with a nice Italian antipasti salad.

For the main course we are going easy with a one pot dish of beef and fennel and pasta. You really can stop with this one.

In case you feel you need something extra I included a vegetarian stuffed cabbage with an Italian touch.
And dessert is our second way with challah, this time it’s loaded with cinnamon.
