Ingredients

  • 8 cups apples peeled, cored, sliced 2 L
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar packed 60 mL
  • 1 Tbsp all purpose flour 15 mL
  • 1 tsp cinnamon 5 mL
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 375 mL
  • 1 1/2 cups oatmeal 375 mL
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed 250 mL
  • 1 tsp baking soda 5 mL
  • 1/2 tsp salt 2 mL
  • 1 cup margarine softened 250 mL

Instructions

Preparation

  • 1 Preheat oven to 350F (180C).2 Place the sliced apples in a 9×13 inch (22×33 cm) pan. Mix the brown sugar 1 Tbsp (15 mL) flour and ground cinnamon together, and sprinkle over apples.3 In a bowl combine the flour, oatmeal, brown sugar, baking soda and salt. Cut in the margarine until mixture is crumbly. Spread evenly over the apple mixture. Bake for about 45 minutes.

    I try not to use margarine can I substitute oil

    Yummy!!!This recipe is easy to make and so delicious! I used butter instead of margarine and added some nutmeg at my husbands request. I will be making this again soon!!
