Hi, I realize this recipe was posted 10 years ago but to date no posting of the temperature to to bake this Kugel at so I’m presuming 350 degrees F for about 1 hour. Correct me if I’m wrong. Ciao
That’s what I would use.
Thanks for these delicious-looking recipes. I’m new to Judaism and new to Passover and am going to try the Passover kugel this week, it looks great; after going to my first seder I want to share some of the greatness of Jewish food with my sister and niece.
Here’s a Passover apple kugel from my Mom.For a sweet and pareve dish try my Mom’s apple kugel which can be either be a side dish or a dessert.
Crush 10 machine matzos into small pieces. Soak for up to one hour in one litre of orange juice. Beat six eggs until frothy. Add between one and a half to two cups of sugar to the egg mixture. Add to the matzo oj mixture.
Peel and slice three to four granny smith apples.
Oil a large foil tray. Layer with matzo batter, apples and matzo batter.
Bake uncovered for an hour at medium heat 350 F/180 C. This freezes well.
Sorry no pix. It’s only for gebruchts eaters.
Thanks for the compliment. my mother has a pesachdig one. Soaked matzos apples etc. I’ll email you the document.
Your Apple Kugel recipe looks amazing. Have you ever tried making this for Passover, substituting a different ingredient in place of the cup of flour? I imagine you could use Cake Meal, but I’m not sure how much of it one would use.
