This easy to prepare a side dish will be a fan favorite at your Shabbat meal!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1- inch piece ginger root peeled and minced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425°F. 
  • Coat green beans in olive oil; bake for 10 minutes.
  • Remove from oven. Mix ginger, honey and soy sauce, and pour over beans. 
  • Bake for 10 to 20 minutes more, depending on how crisp you like your green beans.

    DO NOT PUT DIRECTLY ON PLATA as they will burn. Turn a couple of mid-sized pans (9″x5″) over and then put the pan with the string beans on top of the outer most one. Cover string beans with aluminum foil – punch holes in it to allow for possible moisture to escape so green beans are not mushy. Put on the end of the plata as the center is the hottest part of the plata

    I usually just put them in a pan, they tend to cook evenly if I give a stir after I take them out of the oven to put the ginger, soy and honey on them.
