Hello, If I were in France, where would I find Dunkin Hines cake mixes? I love the “recipes” on Jaime’s site as they are “real” recipes with actual ingredients that I can purchase in a variety of stores.

Thanks so much we try and have a nice mix of all kinds of recipes with a focus on easy recipes with easy to find ingredients, this one is using a cake mix, you don’t have to use that brand, any cake mix you can find will work.

Thanks for your reply . In Jerusalem, Israel for instance, there are NO local cake mixes (except for Pesach), Dukin Hines is not available and everything is done by families from scratch. In Tel Aviv & Haifa, that is where you might find Dunkin Hines. I am going to ask Tomer (in Mattersdorf, Jerusalem) to start carrying more baking ingredients. Gmar Chatima Tova

Yes, it is hard to find cake mixes in Israel although I have seen more of them in recent years. We have lots of cake recipes from scratch so it’s best to use those. You might like this one https://jamiegeller.com/recipes/mrs-finkelsteins-marble-cake/

Thank you for your kind reply. Mrs. Finkelstein’s Marble Cake is DAIRY, not exactly what I would serve at a Meat meal unless I want to get shot. I can convert ingredients to make into a Parve cake I don’t know where you’ve found cake mixes in Israel but not in the religious neighborhoods in Jerusalem or the outskirts. Chag Samaech

I’m pretty sure Osher Ad sells cake mixes, maybe even Duncan Hines

Osher Od does not sell American or Israeli cake mixes. Israeli women even with their long tiring days come home and cook decent meals for their families. Unlike the US, Israel is not big on take out. On Fridays, upon walking by different building you can savor the aromas of the different items cooking in honor of Shabbat. I made Mrs. Finkelstein’s Cake totally Parve!! The people WOWWED the cake.
