This refreshing and elegant dessert offers ease of preparation and fabulous grapefruit taste. The use of the food processor is an easy method for achieving the traditional broken crystals of the granita.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Florida pink grapefruit juice
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 4 mint leaves
  • 4 fresh Florida pink grapefruit slices

Instructions

Preparation

  • 1 In saucepan, combine grapefruit juice and sugar. Bruise mint leaves between fingers and add to saucepan. 2 Bring mixture to just boiling, stirring to dissolve sugar. 3 Remove from heat, cover and let stand 5 minutes. Remove mint leaves.4 Pour grapefruit mixture into ice cube trays; freeze. 5 Just before serving, place a single layer of frozen cubes in food processor fitted with steel blade. 6 Pulse 12 times or until no large chunks of ice remain. 7 Spoon granita into stemmed glasses. 8 Garnish with grapefruit slice. Repeat with remaining cubes. Serve immediately.
