This is a fun way to make small amounts of ice cream, especially when you don’t have an ice cream maker. It is creamy and simple, and my children think it is a great treat to make and eat!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract or flavor of choice
  • 1 tablespoon granulated white sugar
  • 1 cup Ice cubes
  • 6 tablespoons rock salt kosher salt will work also
  • 1 pint sized ziploc-style bag
  • 1 gallon sized ziploc-style bag

Instructions

Preparation

  • 1 Put ice in in gallon bag until halfway full.2 Add salt and set aside. 3 Pour milk, sugar and vanilla extract in pint bag. Seal tightly. 4 Place pint bag inside gallon bag and seal tightly. 5 Shake bags for 6-8 minutes or until milk mixture (pint bag) has thickened to desired ice cream consistency. 6 Remove pint bag from gallon bag and enjoy your cool, creamy treat!
