Ingredients

  • 8 oz. medium noodles
  • 1/4 cup margarine melted
  • 4 eggs lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 4 apples coarsely grated
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Crisp Topping

Instructions

  • 1 Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain and place in large bowl.2 Add margarine; mix well. Cool 10 minutes. Add eggs, honey, raisins, apples, salt and cinnamon; mix well. 3 Place noodle mixture in greased 9-inch square baking pan. Top with Crisp Topping and cover with foil.4 Bake at 350°F for 50 minutes. Uncover and bake 10 to 15 minutes more or until browned on top.5 Crisp Topping: Combine 1/3 cup bread crumbs and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon; mix well. Drizzle 1/4 cup honey over mixture and stir until crumbs are coated. Makes 1/3 cup.

    This kugel was not anything special. It didn’t taste that different from a regular sweet noodle kugel. The shredded apple should have made it more interesting but it didn’t, and it was just a pain to shred them. I wouldn’t make it this again.
