This was the most funnest (I don’t care if that’s not really a word) shoot ever! Why? For the following 4 reasons:

1) I wasn’t alone. I am mostly all by my lonesome (boo hoo hoo) in front of the camera and it can get hard to keep smiling and keep my energy up throughout a 16 hour day. So it was SOOOOOO great to have my friend Naf Hanau from GrowandBehold.com co-host this BEST EVER STEAK episode with me. We were talking and eating and making his secret spice rub and my secret sauce and grilling steaks to perfection, what could be better? (No more tears for me!)
2) Naf and his wife Anna are such a pleasure. And have such cute kids. And such an amazing business with such a delicious quality product and such impeccable customer service. It makes working with them and GrowandBehold.com not really work at all.
3) Tamar was there. (look for her cameo at the end of the episode.) We shot this episode in New York in Naf and Anna’s Brooklyn backyard (and kitchen) so Tamar came to hang and help on set for the day. (Really letting me put my feet up between takes cause it makes such a difference with the swelling. LOVE YOU TAMAR!)

4) The steaks were SO GOOD. Like really SO GOOD. Like SO SO GOOD that I felt bad for Hubby that he wasn’t there to taste and test and taste s’more. Lately he has been stuck eating 18 pounds of challah and a bunch of cheesecake riff recipes (and he doesn’t even like cheesecake!). So this was hard for him and even hard for me – cause his pain is my pain. I almost couldn’t bare it if not for the incredible steak I was eating.

MY FAVORITE TIP IS LET MY SON DO THE COOKING….I SEEM TO BURN EVERYTHING
Looks great. It could make me eat red meat again.
I like to use a Mesquite dry rub on my steaks
love the steaks with sea salt and fresh ground pepper, at’s ah nice!
We use garlic powder and black
pepper mix.
We love using Bone Suckin’ Rub – Delish!
We make a rub with no black pepper (I use red & white, but can’t do black), garlic, salt, this and that – it’s probably different each time but always delicious.
I sprinkle onion powder, garlic powder and black pepper very generously on meat, then broil or grill….Hubby loves it
Make sure that you take the steak off the grill before it gets to the desired temperature. Make sure that you allow the steak to rest to redistribute the juices. The steak’s internal temperature will continue to rise 5-10 degrees. My father swore by salt/pepper and fresh garlic
Salt and Pepper
love montreal steak spice!
I have never had meat from them, but Montreal seasoning grilled Pittsburg style is the way to go!
just salt and pepper is good for me
Sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper- it is as simple as that.
My favorite rub for a steak is salt and pepper with a kick of tabasco!
I was unable to located the post on #JOKContest on Instagram to regram, so, I created my own post — https://instagram.com/p/3rcpIRlDku/?taken-by=bbpinktaz 🙂
A good steak doesn’t need seasoning!
Montreal Steak Seasoning is my favorite.
Salt and pepper are enough.
These steaks looks delicious!
I use a mix of garlic, vinegar, rosemary, salt, dried onion,
Marinate overnight if possible.
I like to freeze my steak for a little bit before I put it on the grill.
teriaki sauce
Simply salt, pepper and onion powder
AHHHH LANA!!! SO fab – love that you shared it with your husband and I love that part too!!!
I have never grilled a steak.
Favorite rub? Marinate steaks in Italian dressing made w/ balsalmic vinegar
Frankly, steaks are so expensive we rarely buy/cook them. Good tips on the fun video though. I’ll keep them in mind if we win!
Salt and pepper
Cook it rare
I love that part too – so useful!! Share the video with all your friends so they don’t miss out.
I have told 3 others so far plus I am going to try it out when I grill tonight. 🙂 Cant wait!
I can’t imagine ever eating a bloody steak. I will cook them medium well for my family.
They were!!
If it’s a really high quality steak, I limit my rub to kosher salt, black pepper and the end of a cut clove of garlic. If it’s not…I don’t bother lol.
I rarely eat red meat anymore, and I’ve not grilled in a long time. BUT, when I do, I like to rub the meat with garlic and make it rare on an in-house cast iron grill pan.
LOL I feel like we are twins!!! We bring in Costco Size Montreal Chicken and Steak Seasoning spices from the US.
My favorite rub is a blend of espresso powder, guajillo chiles, and paprika (the good hungarian stuff). It makes an amazing bark when smoked, and a solid crust when seared in a cast iron (kosher seasoned) pan. Enjoy!
I use kosher salt and pepper and don’t overcook
The steaks you grilled in the demo look amazing!
I’ve never had their steaks, but if they taste as good as they look, I’m sold
I honestly have never had steak.
I use a spicy rub with a little ground coffee.
I remove the steak about 1/2 hours before cooking it. That way by the time the outside has the perfect char the inside won’t still be raw.
Thanks for the great steak tips!
These steaks look so good. I’m going to have to check out Grow and Behold. Thank you for the great tips.
I love Montreal Steak Seasoning!
I will have to say my favorite part was learning how to tell if the steak is rare-over done with just touching the fleshly part of the palm of my hand and each finger. So much so I had to stop my husband from working (we work together) show him! Cant wait to grill and try this!
some salt and drop coarse crushed pepper. Then we have it rare to really enjoy the meat. No sense in smothering it don’t want to mask it.
And also our favorite meat rub is called “dillo dust”
The steak looks wonderful! I receive emails from Grow and Behold but have yet to order anything. It would be great to win so I can “sample” their product.
