Moroccan Cigars

You can make these cigars with any kind of ground meat, including vegetarian crumbles (no one will believe they are vegetarian).  Something about the combo of spices covers up anything else and make the perfect filling.  All you need to do is wrap, roll and bake or fry.

  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, such as Colavita
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 12-16 ounces ground meat (chicken, turkey, beef, veggie crumbles)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ package wonton wrappers


1 Heat pan over medium high eat. Add olive oil.

2 Saute onion for about 2 minutes, then add meat of choice.

3 Add cinnamon, ginger, cumin, salt and pepper.  Stir and adjust seasoning to taste. 

4 Place wonton wrappers on flat surface. Spoon 1 teaspoon of mixture on to wrapper.

5 Roll up and seal off edges with a little water.

6 Place cigars on cookie sheet, spray with cooking spray and bake at 350 for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

7 Alternatively, you can pan fry in a little oil, turning as needed.
