My Nana’s recipe does not have an exact amount of apples as apple sizes vary greatly. I use Granny Smiths and enouogh to make the mixture mostly apple.

My Nana’s Apple Latkes

Ingredients
- 1 1/3 cup flour
- 3 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 tsp teaspoon sugar
- 2/3 cup milk milk substitute will work
- 1 whole Egg well beaten
- 6-8 Apples Pare core and cut into small pieces
- 1/2 cup Oil amount depends on size of pan. Oil should be approximately 1/4 to 1/3 inch deep
Instructions
- Mix dry ingredients and sift. Mix egg and milk. Gradually add milk mixture to dry ingredients. Mix until wet. Stir in apple pieces.
- Heat oil to approx 365 degrees. Ladle mixture into pan. Fry until browned on one side and turn and fry until browned. Drain well on brwn paper bagging or paper towel.
- Sprinkle with confectioners’ sugar. Serve and enjoy immediately!
