Oven Fried Turkey Breast with Orange Crispy Beets

Fried Turkey Breast

Crispy coated turkey breast is made easy in the oven and flavored with lots of herbs. To get uniform beet slices, use a mandolin on the largest setting or a very sharp knife.

Oven Fried Turkey Breast:

  • 2 pound, 14 ounce Wise Organic turkey breast
  • ¼ cup vegan butter, melted
  • 1 cup Italian-style panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ teaspoon dried rosemary
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper

Crispy Orange Beets:

  • 1 pound, 2 ounces sliced beets, sliced ¼-inch thick, or the thickest setting on a mandolin
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ⅓ cup fresh squeezed orange juice
  • Garnish: fresh orange zest and coarse kosher salt


Oven Fried Turkey Breast:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

2. Combine vegan butter spread, panko, rosemary, oregano, salt, and pepper. 

3. Rinse and dry turkey breast. Coat with breadcrumb mixture, patting breadcrumbs under skin if desired. Place turkey in large baking pan and cover pan with aluminum foil. 

4. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour. Remove turkey breast from oven, remove foil, and bake for 15­ to 30 minutes more, or until internal temperature of turkey reaches 165°F. Once out of the oven, allow meat to rest, covered with foil, for 10 minutes.

Crispy Orange Beets:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

2. Toss beets with oil, salt, and orange juice. 

3. Place beet slices on prepared baking sheets; in one even layer to ensure crisp edges. 

4. Bake beets for 15 minutes; flip, then bake for 15 minutes more. Sprinkle finished beets with orange zest and kosher salt, if desired.
