passover matzo ball recipe

Last week the winning word for the 86th Scripps National Spelling Bee  was Knaidel.  Ironically, the Indian-American winner who lives in New York, has never even had a knaidel, otherwise known as matzo ball.   Now everyone is searching the internet to find out what this Yiddish word means and probably heading over their local Jewish deli to try one out.

Of course we all know and love knaidel some of us enjoy them weekly in our chicken soup and with all the knaidel talk abound I thought I would share a few of our favorite recipes.

To start with, Jamie shows you how she learned to make the fluffiest lightest matzo balls with one simple secret ingredient. Click play to find out what it is.

If you like to change things up, we always like variety here on JoyofKosher, try out this Spinach Knaidel recipe using whole wheat matzo meal.

I am a modern cook who makes very untraditional food, but I have to say, knaidlach are unsurpassed. I could happily eat a few right now with some hot chicken soup.
