Fifteen floors above the Netanya coastline, tucked into the top of the Lagoon Vert Hotel is Maree Sky Lounge. Opened in 2022, Maree has become one of the most talked-about tables in the country, and it being Kosher is just another feather in its cap. Sit by the windows like we did and you’ll understand immediately why reservations here go fast.
The décor leans boldly theatrical: support pillars disguised as tree trunks, walls that look hewn from black volcanic rock, and a central open bar crowned with a bright red hood that glows like a beacon over the whole space. Real palms and greenery soften the drama, and upbeat dance music hums along in the background until it simply becomes part of the room’s pulse. It’s the kind of design that photographs beautifully and still manages to feel warm rather than sterile. Under the guidance of chef Yonatan Roshfeld, one of the premier culinary minds in the country, the kitchen matches the room’s ambition: focused, confident, and unafraid of a little spectacle on the plate.

Maree’s cocktail list runs deep, with more than a dozen options built for sipping slowly while the sky changes color outside. Each comes with its own gastronomical twist. Mai’s Heart leans floral, with rose and hibiscus vodka against passion fruit and pomegranate, while the Basil Heat goes the other way entirely — herby, almost savory, with tequila, apricot, mango, and a bite of ginger at the end that all gets lit up in flames at the table when served. The Botanical Breeze is the palate cleanser of the group, cucumber and mint vodka with pineapple and citrus, easy to drink a second one. Berry Touch is the fun one, thyme gin and strawberry topped with sweet crunchy kadaif (shredded phyllo).

We started off with their flagship corn, which gets grilled in the Josper, their charcoal oven, so you get a real smoky contrast to the natural sweetness of the corn, plated with Jerusalem artichoke crisps and a jerusalem artichoke mash with Asian Togarashi spices.

The amberjack tartare, meanwhile, is all about texture and precision: clean cubes of raw amberjack over a crisp toast, brightened with a garlicky scordalia and finished with a scatter of tobiko for pop and salt is then served with a fermented pepper sauce and lemon wheel, which our server explains is to be eaten all together for the perfect bite.

The salad they tell us, is comprised of over 24 different greens, and tossed with a japanese sesame and yuzu dressing. Each bite showcasing a different flavor and tantalizing the palate. The crispy potato gnocchi served on a roasted red pepper sauce and Jerusalem Artichoke puree is also delightful.
For our mains, it’s the entrecote that steals the show, a tender, well-marbled cut, paired with a roasted potato with salsa verde and a peppercorn sauce. And the salmon comes cooked perfectly. Delicate, and melting at the tongue, with an asian glaze and a roasted white sweet potato, its a light but filling entree that brings the savory courses to a close.

For dessert we enjoyed a brilliant Creme Brulee, with a thick layer of carmelized sugar, perfectly set creme and a layer of vanilla ice cream all accentuated beautifully by the fresh blueberries and nectarines. It’s a classic done right: no unnecessary reinvention, just a technique executed with care, which somehow feels exactly right after a meal built on bold flavors and bigger views.
Maree is a full body experience. The music, the flavors and drinks, the decor and the presentation of each dish, and last but not least the incredible sea view is what makes this a must for your next visit to Netanya.
