This Italian Tomato Salad is versatile and easy to make. Make it for your next Shabbat meal, picnic, or any weeknight dinner.
Mix red, yellow, and orange grape tomatoes for a spectacular look and line the bowl with a few large red cabbage leaves for a gorgeous presentation.
Make sure to use a great quality extra virgin olive oil. We love Colavita!

Italian Tomato Salad
Servings
Ingredients
- 2 10-ounce boxes grape tomatoes, cut in half through stem end
- ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 2 teaspoons basil
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
- Place tomatoes in medium bowl.
- In a small bowl, mix evoo, vinegar, garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Pour over tomatoes.
- Toss and serve.

Jamie, this salad is delicious! I had to do a taped demo at the culinary school I attend and used this salad. Everyone loved it. I used plum tomatoes because that was all we had. But I think any tomato would work. Being part Italian I really loved that you could taste the fresh garlic and it wasn’t over powering. I will definitely be using it again.
