I used to make these all the time before I had kids with a plastic flower pot and a fake flower, but you can use gummy worms or anything else just have fun. I make this with a dairy free whip topping and it is so easy you will want to make it all the time, but you can of course use Whipping Cream if going dairy.

Chocolate Dirt Cups (Mousse)
Servings
Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups whipping cream regular or dairy free (chilled, not frozen)
- 1 12-ounce bag semi-sweet quality chocolate chips
- 1/2 package non dairy chocolate sandwich cookies
- gummy worms or fake flowers
Instructions
- Chill mixing bowl and whisk attachment of mixer and make sure cream is well chilled. Put chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl and heat for 30 seconds, stir and continue cooking for another 30 seconds. Stir again and if it is not smooth put back in the microwave for 10 second intervals until smooth.
- Place cold whip into bowl of mixer and whisk on high until medium peaks form. Fold a small portion into the melted chocolate then fold in the rest in two batches, fold gently until combined do not overmix, it is okay if some white streaks remain.
- Place in small cups, bowls or plastic flower pots, individual or large, refrigerate until ready to serve at least one hour and up to a day.
- Before serving, crumble the cookies and lay on top like dirt, garnish with a gummy worm or fake flower.

We were served this dessert at ABIGAEL’S in NYC and was a great hit. I surprised my guests by serving it in a larger flower pot with artificial flowers . It was placed on the table at the beginning of the meal and no one guessed that it was the dessert, it looked so real.
That looks delicious!! I am not a fan of gummy candy so I’d skip that part and keep my “dirt” to the cookies.
