Spiced Applesauce

  • 12/-14 cooking apples
  • 1 1/2 cups Water
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup California walnuts



1  Peel and core apples and cut into 1-inch chunks.

2 Place in a pot with the water then cover and cook, stirring frequently, until apples are tender, about 30 minutes.

3 Mash apples until texture is as smooth as you wish.

4  Then add lemon juice, sugar and cinnamon.

5  Stir walnuts into warm applesauce and serve immediately.
