This was the most funnest (I don’t care if that’s not really a word) shoot ever! Why? For the following 4 reasons:

1) I wasn’t alone. I am mostly all by my lonesome (boo hoo hoo) in front of the camera and it can get hard to keep smiling and keep my energy up throughout a 16 hour day. So it was SOOOOOO great to have my friend Naf Hanau from GrowandBehold.com co-host this BEST EVER STEAK episode with me. We were talking and eating and making his secret spice rub and my secret sauce and grilling steaks to perfection, what could be better? (No more tears for me!)
2) Naf and his wife Anna are such a pleasure. And have such cute kids. And such an amazing business with such a delicious quality product and such impeccable customer service. It makes working with them and GrowandBehold.com not really work at all.
3) Tamar was there. (look for her cameo at the end of the episode.) We shot this episode in New York in Naf and Anna’s Brooklyn backyard (and kitchen) so Tamar came to hang and help on set for the day. (Really letting me put my feet up between takes cause it makes such a difference with the swelling. LOVE YOU TAMAR!)

4) The steaks were SO GOOD. Like really SO GOOD. Like SO SO GOOD that I felt bad for Hubby that he wasn’t there to taste and test and taste s’more. Lately he has been stuck eating 18 pounds of challah and a bunch of cheesecake riff recipes (and he doesn’t even like cheesecake!). So this was hard for him and even hard for me – cause his pain is my pain. I almost couldn’t bare it if not for the incredible steak I was eating.

shocked like they weren’t expecting it? (but so nice to share your steaks with friends 🙂
We use Montreal Steak seasoning.
I like Montreal seasoning, but in my last trip we ate at a steakhouse in Utah that had its own rub, and we bought some of it. It’s really good!
montreal steak spice!
I marinate overnight in a glass container
I love Montreal Steak Seasoning!
I use a garlic and pepper rub.
Looks delicious! Need to try this!
Lately I’ve been on a kick of using Galil shwarma seasoning as a dry rub for lots of meat & chicken. For these steaks, though, I’d stick with pepper and maybe a little garlic powder, because they’d taste awesome. (Also I reserve the right to caramelize some onions to serve alongside.)
Salt and pepper!
For a steak rub, I like combining soy sauce, honey, olive oil, onion, garlic and pepper 🙂
I like to marinate in Italian dressing
I just use crushed pepper sometimes red pepper flakes and salt Sometimes I make a gravy with onions and mushrooms to put on them
The steaks were a huge success! We invited a couple of friends over and they loved them. They were however a little shocked that the steaks had a coffee dry~rub 🙂 but it didn’t stop them from eating. Thank you for sharing!

Charcoal fire produces better tasting steak.
Montreal Steak seasoning, or just kosher salt, pepper and granulated garlic
italian seasoning with minced garlic, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. yum!
Salt and pepper with a pat of butter.
I have been using coffee in my dry rub for some time, ever since having steak at the Argentinian restaurant in Bklyn NY. I like my steaks rare (only way to eat them really!) I grill them to rare, but then let them sit, covered, in a low (200-250) oven for a while so that they keep the rare feel but lose a bit of the rare look for those more squemish. I think a big mistake people make is not letting them sit, for the juices to reabsorb before cutting
I love steak and would love to try these from Grow and Behold. Our rub is simply McCormick’s Montreal Steak seasoning. It is just the right flavor.
The products from Grow & Behold look awesome! I was raised in Texas where grilling & BBQ rule! We all have our own dry rubs & sauces. I would love to be able to try my rubs & sauces on their meat.
I am not a big red meat eater, but once in a while I get a craving. The rest of my family love when Ima isn’t home because it is steak night. Nevertheless, even I salivated watching that video. In our house we limit our seasoning to salt, pepper, and garlic, but that rub sounds great. We would love to get a sample and try it out.
My favorite rub is simply salt and pepper! Would love to win! If the steaks taste as good as they look, we will become devoted customers! 🙂
I need to experiment with dry rubs. I’ve been grilling primarily with wet sauces. My favorite it ketchup, brown sugar, molasses, and curry powder. I would love to win the contest.
I only wish we had a grill! Broiled isn’t bad though.
thanks, fixed
I like to marinate my steaks in an Asian style marinade then cook until medium rare.
Thank you for the giveaway. I love a good rub with a sweet and spicy kick!
I like to marinade the steak first then rub with sea or kosher salt, ground peppercorns, onion and garlic powder
We usually do a spicy rub that includes, different dried chiles.
I so love a Cajun rub.
thank you
My favorite rub is one made from Balsamic Vinaigrette, paprika and mint.
I like just garlic salt and fresh ground pepper.
Thanks for the contest.
Oh goodness I use every type of seasoning their is, salt, pepper, rubs, dressing etc etc.
Sorry, no special rub or sauce. I sprinkle on one of several commercial spice mixtures I have on hand.
I usually put on a steak seasoning and olive oil blend.. rubbed in well and let the steak sit on the counter for a good 20 minutes before grilling.
