Egg roll fanatics, unite!
I crave egg rolls like crazy – especially late at night, smothered in spicy mustard, duck sauce and soy sauce (YES, ALL THREE). There’s a problem, of course. No one wants to run out to the Chinese take-out at 1:00 AM to satisfy Jamie’s cravings; at least no husband, who shall remain nameless, who claims he actually prefers to sleep.
That’s why I love egg roll wrappers. Our marriage is secure because Hubby can snooze while I make egg rolls myself right in my own kitchen. I can go classic or creative. Depends on my mood.
This is something I definitely want to share with all egg roll fanatics like me. So grab some egg roll wrappers and try these super recipes.
My Vegetarian Avocado Egg Rolls with Spicy Dipping Sauce was inspired by the El Bomba Egg Roll at the kosher Japanese restaurant Sushi Metsuyan. (Thanks, guys, for the sun-dried tomato, avocado fried egg roll combo concept!) It’s so crazy good, you will lose your mind. If you’re looking for a forgiving-for-your-figure treat, try my Sweet Baked Apple Strudel Egg Roll.
Oh, and get extra portions with the savory Five-Spice Turkey Egg Rolls and Beef and Mushroom Egg Rolls because the aroma will surely entice a certain someone who is suddenly awake enough to ask for samples.
But, don’t forget dessert! Browse through the recipes below and find all our favorite ways to use egg roll wrappers.

Beef and mushroom…it’s closest to classic and you can’t really go wrong with mushrooms!
The apple strudel sounds absolutely delicious
I WOULD PICK THE SWEET BAKED APPLE STRUDEL EGG ROLL IT SOUNDS DIFFERENT AND I HAVE A SWEET TOOTH! SOUNDS YUMMY!!!!
Our family went apple picking, so the apple strudel egg roll sounds like a perfect way to use them. The beef mushroom roll sounds delicious because I love mushrooms. But I will definitely be making the avocado roll since my family adores avocadoes
Vegetarian Avocado Egg Rolls with Spicy Dipping Sauce would be my favorite because it appeals both to me, who is not a vegetarian, and my wife, who is.
i just finished making a very similar recipe of the turkey egg rolls today! so it is my favorite of course. i am preparing for a month long visit from my son, daughter in law and two grandkids coming from israel to spend october with us. so i made a batch of the turkey egg rolls and they are in my freezer to use for a quick dinner when they are here! i hope i win something from your sukkot tablescape as they will be with us for sukkot!
My favorite one is the Sweet Baked Apple Strudel Egg Roll. It is so original and DELICIOUS 🙂
Definitely the avocado one! And the apple one looks like a nice twist on the traditional apple dishes for Rosh Hashana!
Definitely the vegetarian option – Love the avocado.
The apple strudel egg roll. I am always looking for original new desserts.
The vegetarian avocado egg rolls look amazing! Avocado is one of my favorite foods, and I think combining the creaminess of the avocado with the spiciness of the dipping sauce will be very tasty!
Apple Strudel, hands down.
This is a gorgeous and stunning tablescape giveaway! Kudos to the sponsor!
The spicy turkey egg rolls. I love spicey food and I don’t care much for mushrooms and I just didn’t think the apple ones sounded that great
Vegetarian avocado egg rolls , I love avokado and it will look soooo good on Yom Tov table!
Apple Strudel Egg Roll
The strudel one, of course. Who doesn’t like dessert?
I like the Sweet Baked Apple Strudel Egg Roll. We live in the North and we love to go Apple picking. This looks like a great dessert or snack using apples, it is almost like an apple pie without the work or wait time.
I am a big fan of the El Bamba roll and am always trying (and succeeding) to replicate restaurant recipes so I will definitely be trying the avocado one, but the sweet apple one looks interesting too. The only restaurant dish that I have not been successful with is the Negamaki, specifically from the old Haikara restaurant. It was “melt in your mouth” delicious and I can’t figure out what cut of meat was used. If you have any ideas I would love to hear them.
It’s gotta be the beef and mushroom! I love both beef and mushrooms, so it sounds good to me.
Vegetarian avocado egg rolls cuz i LOVE avocado
Having had both the avocado egg rolls and the chicken five spice (just this weekend. delightful!), and enjoying both, I can’t really decide between. They’re good for different things. The chicken rolls make a good lunch on their own and the avocado are delightfully creamy starters for a dinner.
The avocado one looks like I could make it tonight!
My favorite is the Five Spice Turkey eggroll- yummmm!
The apple strudle egg roll who have to be mine. Sounds delious.
I think my favorite would be the beef and mushroom egg rolls, because it uses ingredients that taste great hot.
But the possibilities are ENDLESS.
I just created my own recipe for Pastrami Egg Rolls here:

Thanks for running this contest!
Beef and mushroom, looks delicious and hearty. More of a meal than an appetizer. Although the beautiful avocado one is also calling my name
Beef and Mushroom Egg Roll. I’m a sucker for mushrooms, they are delicious.
I like the Baked Apple Strudle Egg Rolls, Yummy, my favorite ingredients.
I would give my vote for the Vegetarian avacado egg rolls with spicy dipping sauce. We love egg rolls, and my husband loves spicy foods. I might try to bake them though. I also would like to try to make the apple strudel egg rolls with less sugar. Both of these recipes piqued my interest. Thank you for this opportunity.
You’ve got to be kidding! I live in Denver now, but grew up in Queens NY; although my second home was Delancy Street, on the Lower East Side, Shmulke Bernstein’s,specifically. Then there was Moshe Peking’s in midtown Manhattan, sadly both gone now. And if that wasn’t enough there’s Shang-Chai in Brooklyn not to mention the other zillion there. But to choose which is my favorite eggroll, OY! Impossible, unthinkable (as the Fiddler on The Roof’s Tevye would say)??!
I definitely lean toward the Beef & Mushroom (being a meat and potatoes sort of guy). I also love the veggie one and the cabbage one too- see I told you it would be tough. Then there is the variety of sauces to choose from. But please let us not forget another Jewish favorite – Egg Foo Young, mmm good! So Jamie, my dear, Keep on cooking! You’re wonderful.
The avocado eggrolls look amazing, I can’t wait to try them! Why? Avocado anything is always my favorite!
Can I freeze these?
LOVE the avocado eggrolls. My husband LOVES to make them himself (and share them with me). We make them sans sundried tomatoes which I don’t like. We live in a small town in Pennsylvania so our kosher selection is limited. New recipes (- especially eggrolls!) are always welcome and well-used in our home and now shared with our community!
Wow…I don’t know if I could pick. They all look so yummy. I’m going to go with the avacado egg roll because 1. I love avacado AND sundried tomatoes. 2. It’s vegetarian and healthful.
The avocado one–because I love avocados in anything!
The avocado egg roll sounds amazing. I am a HUGE fan of avocados and eat them with anything I can. I love the texture, the color it gives the dish and I just LOVE the taste of it! I love it so much I even put guacamole on pancakes once (it was actually good)!
We’re gebetsched with abundant, fresh avocados here in SoCal, so that one is a natural choice for me.
I think the Vegetarian Avocado Egg Rolls are my favorite–I can’t resist any recipe with avocado in it!
beef and mushroom, we are just chopped meat people in my house!
I am a real avocado fan. Even though I’m not a vegetarian, it’s such a savory recipe anyone could enjoy it!
Hi! My family loves the southwestern egg rolls recipe. I make it really spicy. After all we live in New Mexico. Thanks for the contest!
Hi Jamie ,
I love egg rolls …I’ve become a vegetarian so I would have to say the avocado egg rolls would be my favorite. I have had vegetarian egg rolls with avacado and they are very yummy. Thanks for the contest!
Definitely the Beef & Mushroom Eggrolls because (1) I love the beef and mushroom combination, (2) Prep time is only 15 minutes, (3) Cook time is only 30 minutes—I’m all about quick preparation time when hungry, and (4) it serves 10 people, so that is a great dish to entertain folks with in any soiree!
The avocado one!!!! I’ve been literally planning my meals lately according to what goes well with avocado/guacamole… (EVERYTHING!) Tempted to go try those right now …
My favorite is the Mushroom and beef it combines the two foods I love to cook with the most
The apple strudel, because its such an unexpected sweet flavor in an egg roll
My favorite is the vegetarian avocado egg roll because my family is a family of vegetarians and we all enjoy avocados. This is an unusual egg roll recipe and I can’t wait to make it together with the dipping sauce.
The turkey and five-spice seasoned egg rolls. But I would use hot mustard for the dipping instead of duck sauce. I chose this recipe because it is more of a traditional egg roll which is what I love about egg rolls and also because they are baked instead of fried. I LOVE the fried ones but too much guilt involved to allow me to totally enjoy eating them.
hard to pick just one… so i’m picking (at least) 2- the avocado ones i’ve been meaning to try ever since i first saw your recipe of them… and the apple strudel one sounds so intriguing to me– a sweet eggroll?! but the recipe sounds delish so i’m going to try both…
I would like the Beef and Mushroom Egg Rolls because the ingredients are favorites 🙂 *Thanks* for the giveaway!
