90 calorie fudge pop

Fudgesicles

These fudgesicles are rich, chocolatey, and satisfying, but are dairy free and low in calories. You can lower the calories even more, if desired, by using artificial sweetener.

Servings

8 Servings

Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk of choice almond, soy, coconut, skim, etc.
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

Instructions

  • Mix all ingredients in a pot over low heat on the stove or in the microwave. Heat through just to dissolve sugar and cocoa.
  • Pour into popsicle molds (fills 8 of mine) and freeze for a few hours until solid.  Enjoy on a hot day.
  • Have some fun by adding some chopped peanuts or mini chocolate chips, but they do drive up the calories a bit and they are so good on their own.

These sound so good. I use Splenda in quite a few recipes, but never use the equivalent amount as sugar. If it calls for 1 c. sugar, i use 1/2 Splenda. If a greater mount of Splenda is used, it gets to tasting chemically and over sweet.

It will really depend on the milk you use, the unsweetened cocoa doesn’t add much, but I can’t give you hard numbers since every brand of milk and cocoa will vary slightly. If you make 8 out of this recipe, then add up the info for 1 tablespoon cocoa powder and 1/4 cup milk and about 1 tablespoon sugar sub. That will be the most accurate.

    Thanks for responding.

Actually, what I need to know is the carb, fiber, fat content, protein. Thanks

If I substitute Splenda for sugar, what would the nutritional values be?

    Thanks!

I don’t really use sweet n low, but I found online that one packet is equal to 2 teaspoons of sugar, so that would be 6 packets, but I would do it taste (taste it before freezing)

Sorry about that, the calories are based on 8 servings, but based on your molds you might have to adjust. I updated it above. The sugar adds almost 50 calories, so if you use sugar sub you can keep it to 40 cals.

The recipe doesn’t say how many portions there are, so can’t tell how much equals 90 calories! I want to make this, but am on strict diet. so very much need to know.

how much sweet n low should I use? I don’t think it measures spoonful against spoonful for sugar.
