Israeli Mini Burgers

ISRAELI BURGERS WITH FATTOUSH SALAD

Labor Day is synonymous with backyard barbecues, delicious food, and quality time with loved ones. But what happens to all those leftover burgers, hot dogs, and sides? Don’t let them go to waste! Here are some creative and tasty ways to repurpose your Labor Day cookout leftovers.

  • Leftover Burgers:
    • Burger Bowls: Create hearty and satisfying bowls by combining leftover burger patties with your favorite toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, and cucumber and serving over a bowl of rice or quinoa.
    • Burger Soup: Transform leftover burgers into a comforting bowl of soup by adding broth, vegetables, and your favorite spices. Use our Kosher Italian Wedding Soup recipe to guide you.
    • Burger Sliders: Miniaturize your leftover burgers into sliders for a fun and easy appetizer or snack or serve them in pita bread.
  • Leftover Hot Dogs:
    • Chili Dogs: Top leftover hot dogs with chili and onions for a hearty and satisfying meal.
    • Hot Dog Stew: Combine leftover hot dogs with lentils and cabbage for a slow cooker stew any night or even for Shabbat.  Get the recipe.
    • Hot Dog Croutons: Cut up the hotdogs into bite size pieces and roast until crisped. Serve in your favorite salad or soup as different kind of crouton.
  • Leftover Sides:
    • Potato Salad Sandwiches: Use leftover potato salad as a filling for sandwiches or wraps.
    • Coleslaw Tacos: Create a refreshing and light taco by using leftover coleslaw as a topping.
    • Corn Fritters: Combine leftover corn with cornmeal, green onions, chilies and flour to create delicious corn fritters.

With a little creativity, you can transform your Labor Day cookout leftovers into delicious and satisfying meals. Not only will you save money, but you’ll also reduce food waste.
