Sprouting Almond Shabbat Menu
After Korach and his followers challenge the leadership of Moses and meet a dramatic end, Hashem asks Moses to collect a staff from each of the tribal leaders. For the Tribe of Levi, the staff is inscribed with the name of Aaron. The next day Aaron's staff is blooming with almonds, signifying the continuity of Aaron's spiritual leadership. As a tribute to Aaron and our love of almonds our Shabbat Menu is a delicious display of almonds.
BAKED ASIAN NUT MIX WITH CHERRIES
Start your meal with a few snacks, great to keep the kids satisfied in the afternoon too, these Shabbat dinners can be late.
ASIAN SWEET AND SOUR BEAN SALAD
The bean salad can be eaten more like a snack with your hands or in larger portions and/or stuffed in a pepper like the photo. Flavorful, fresh and delicious.
Get your slow cooker to help make these ribs, low and slow. Easy to keep hot as long as you need. Instead of the chips make these spiced sweet potato fries.
Bake your own flavored sweet potato fries, they go perfectly with those ribs.
Make a vinegar based slaw topped with healthy crunchy almonds. I love them slivered or sliced and toasted, you can even try half of each for an interesteing variety.
Almonds are easy to use in dessert, these almond bars will prove to be a new favorite.
