I used to make this soup as an all day affair, now I can make it in less than hour.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 Clove garlic minced
  • 1 onion minced
  • 1 lb bag baby carrots chopped
  • 1 lb. bag of dry split peas
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 package of Sazon seasoning mix optional
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 cups Water

Instructions

Preparation

  • 1 Heat pressure cooker pot with oil until hot. Saute onion and garlic on medium until translucent. 2 Add the rest of the ingredients, cover and bring up to pressure. Cook for 20 minutes and then turn off the heat to allow the pressure to slowly release. 3 Serve immediately.

    I personally like to cook it for about 4 hours, but it is probably ready after about 2. Hope that helps.

    if im not using a slow cooker or pressure cooker but the stove top, how long do i cook it for?
