why do we make a challah in the shape of a crown? i have several ideas- 1. to symbolize the malchuyos of Hashem (one of the main themes of Rosh Hashana)
2. beginning of a new year, new cycle of the year
3. “circle of life” like you mentioned, but more so that we were given and hopefully will be given another full year of life, following this yom hadin.
