Beefed Up Slow Cooker Recipes

Nothing like that aroma of a meaty stew cooking throughout the day – doesn’t matter whether you’re busy at home, or just returning after a long day. You take a sniff and the whole house tells you that dinner is ready!

Here are some great dishes that can satisfy the hungriest of tummies after a day at school or work. (They’re not only fab for your family, they’re gorgeous enough to serve to company too.)

These recipes are all meant for any night of the week with cooking times of up to 8-10 hours.  For Shabbat slow cooker recipes, check out 25 Cholent Recipes.

Asian BBQ Beef Ribs with Seasoned Chips

The ribs are so mouthwateringly soft, the meat just falls right off the bone and melts in your mouth.

Nothing can be easier than short ribs in sauce in your slow cooker and nothing is as melt in your mouth delicious either.

Slow Cooker Chili with Pulled Pot Roast

This is one of those hearty incredible beef dishes you will want to serve while watching a big game.  Don’t forget the toppings.

Slow Cooker Brisket

We love a good brisket especially on holidays, so when you have a lot to cook this one can go in the slow cooker and you can set it and forget it.

Slow Cooker Braised Short Ribs

Braised short ribs made easy in the slow cooker.

Joan’s Crock Pot Beef

This one can be made low and slow on the stove or placed in the slow cooker to use less energy.

What’s your beef? No, I mean, what’s your favorite slow cooker meat meal? (Aside from cholent, of course!)

My girlfriend makes good slow cooker meals. Usually she just combines chunks of beef, carrots, potatoes, and onions. She lets it simmer for a few hours. Of course, she only uses Kosher ingredients.

Your Shredded Lamb with Tomato & Basil sounds Sooooo good! We love lamb & I’m always looking for good recipes! (i can see doing it using different herbs, too, such as oregano, or rosemary… and it could be great served in a pita!) I haven’t used a slow cooker for many years and would love to try it again! I get your newsletter by email.

Chicken cacciatore. Brown cut up chicken on stovetop for a few minutes before adding to slow cooker. Use marinara sauce or tomato sauce, one cut up chicken, chopped onion, minced garlic and sliced mushrooms. Salt and pepper and some Italian seasoning (basil, oregano). Cook on high setting for several hours. Don’t think this would work for shabbos because the chicken would probably fall apart.

    Jamie Darling,
How crazy this came in today because I did just what you suggested – I dusted off my crock pot (nobody in my house eats chulent any more!) and made dinner in 10 minutes with some chicken and veggies! I can’t wait to peruse your recipes because after I realized how easy this was, I’m going to do it more often on days like today when I’ll be running with the kids right into dinnertime!!

My favorite slow cooker recipe is a kosher version of BBQ pulled pork I do.

I place a whole turkey breast into the crock pot with about 1/2 cups of water and season it with black pepper and garlic powder.

Cook on high for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

Let it cook, then shred the turkey by either pulling it apart with your fingers or two forks.

Return the turkey to the crock pot (and the liquid still in it), add 2 bottles of your favorite BBQ sauce, mix thoroughly and cook on low for 45 minutes.

Serve on hot dog or hamburger buns or in a flour tortilla. Cole Slaw, potato salad and pasta salad are great sides to serve with it.
